What is Coaching

COACH

Your change agent committed to tangible results for a richer, fuller, more gratifying life in alignment with your value system.

COACHING

ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.  It is based on the premise that a person is whole, healthy and resourceful.

At times we need a trained professional to turn the spotlight on a new angle, to highlight our strengths, champion our causes, celebrate our successes and create accountability.  In coaching you are stretched, challenged, encouraged, held accountable and celebrated.  You receive awareness and action oriented coaching to optimize your potential.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN COACHING & PSYCHOTHERAPY

Both use knowledge of human behavior.  Approaches differ.
Coach is a partner | Therapist is an expert
Coaching focuses on present & future | Therapy examines past also
Coaching is awareness & action oriented | Therapy is process oriented
Coach asks powerful questions | Therapist states, suggests, interprets
Coachee sets and drives agenda | Therapy client is guided to set agenda
Coachee self-evaluates | Therapist evaluates along with client
Coaching addresses barriers to success | Psychotherapy addresses dysfunctional behaviors, emotional vulnerabilities and personality dynamics
